Liberia Project

Project Description

The Public International Law & Policy Group is providing legal assistance to Liberia regarding constitutional reform.  PILPG is providing legal assistance to The New Liberia Institute, a newly established think tank headed by high-level Liberian politicians and former government officials.

Among the issues covered by PILPG are land reform and citizenship laws, harmonization of the judicial system, and structural reform of the branches of government and the electoral system.

PILPG has partnered with several law firms including Covington & Burling LLP and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP to prepare an array of memoranda that will serve as guides for reforming the current Constitution of Liberia.
